Hurricane Sandy and Emergency Communications

Hi all
I think most of the world are watching and listening as Hurricane Sandy hits the coast of the USA.
Which brings me to why I'm posting now.

Click here to listen to the National Hurricane Center Skywarn Nets

These nets are for passing important information, maybe live saving information, they are not for connecting to on Echolink and telling net control about your G5RV.

I apologize to the people who are listening to the net for information about the storm conditions, maybe to check their family and homes if you have heard any operators from England who didn't read before transmitting.

Most of us would spot the word hurricane and Skywarn and understand why this system is in place and not transmit from somewhere irreverent passing irreverent information, but it does happen.

So...  Please
If your in England and want to listen click the link..
DO NOT Connect via Echolink and tell them how much you like earl gray or that you were late for work because the clocks went back, your transmission might be jamming a call from someone in a life threatening situation.

Thanks

I hope Sandy doesn't do to much damage over there guys.
We are thinking of you.

Mark
